Review on Fotodiox Pro Octagon Softbox 60" - The Ultimate Lighting Solution For Broncolor (Impact) And Visatec Strobe Lights With Octbox, Speed Ring, And Soft Box by Michael Gonzales

Solid purchase good for me

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much when I ordered this softbox. but the overall quality is actually quite surprising. The speedring adapter seems well made and fits my old Norman LH-2000 and LH-2400 heads without issue, the material feels rugged, and the overall quality of light from the softbox is pretty good. That said, like nearly all softboxes, it was a real pain to put the thing together--the included rods are very, very rigid and the pockets that the rods slip into are very tight. Given the small size of the softbox, I found myself wondering if fiberglass rods wouldn't have been more appropriate since they'd make assembly easier and reduce the overall stress on the stitch work. Speaking of stitch work, everything feels solid and doesn't look like it's going to have any issues but I'll be sure to update this review should that change.Unrelated to my thoughts on the product, Fotodiox (the seller) initially shipped the softbox with the incorrect speedring included (they sent me hardware for using the softbox with a speedlight), but they did manage to get the correct hardware into my hands within a week after an e-mail and a quick voicemail explaining the issue (and they didn't even ask me to send anything back). Their customer service people have you covered if there's a shipping mistake on their end, even if it does take them more than 24 hours to respond.
