This case is perfect for my needs. It is not designed for pencils/fine pens. However, if you look closely at the photos you'll see that by adding a strap you can make the frontmost pocket snug enough to hold a pair of pencils securely, allowing most slots to accommodate a thicker pencil. (Put pencils/fine pens in the front pocket so that they lie in the space between the pen slots.) Once attached, it affects the aesthetics of your journal and adds a lot of thickness to your carrying experience. An unexpected advantage of its volume for me. The personal is that it supports the front cover to make the face flatter and more comfortable for writing. The case is easy to attach and remove. The strap attaches with Velcro at both ends and can be completely removed so you can use it separately. I can think of a hack that uses a large velcro on the back to attach it to a surface like a wall or divider. Or even attach something to the sleeve itself. It goes well with the lighthouse and comes with extensions for large magazines.
