I have needed a booster pump for 12 years. Until I bought the Grundfos Scala2, the previous pump added some pressure to whatever pressure was being supplied to the house. We are at a public well and therefore the pressure will vary by about 15psi depending on the pressure coming from the well. So, with constant supplementation, my home pressure was sometimes higher than I wanted. With this pump you set the desired pressure in the house and the pump will read what's coming into the house and work faster or slower to maintain the PSI you set. Worked perfectly for the first month of operation. If this pump lasts 10 years I will be very satisfied. So far only smiles. Update - I had some issues with this pump but the quality of the pump depends on the quality of service provided by the seller. Vern's Wholesale offers exceptional customer service. They replaced the broken pump within 4 days including weekends. Not bad for Vern's Wholesale.
