I am a serious swimmer. I wear this cap 5 times a week for a swim in a public pool (with flips). My hat size is 23 inches (slightly larger than the average woman). This hat: 1) Very stretchy, easy to put on and take off. 2) it is comfortable to wear. It doesn't pull my hair out when I take it off my head after a bath. 3) NOT fully waterproof. My dry hair is so wet that it has to be blow dried after a bath. However, on the advice of my hairstylist, before putting on a swim cap, you must soak your hair in tap water. When saturated with tap water (shower water), the less chemically treated pool water CANNOT penetrate your hair shafts. This is especially important for women with colored hair (like me). Great cap for the serious swimmer. So happy I bought it in 3 colors!
