Me: Can you feel it? It smells like gasoline. Husband: No, it doesn't smell. Yizu: [Alarm goes off] Gas Company: I can't smell it, but my detector picks it up. Plumber: I kind of smell it. We removed the old false ceiling and about a day later I was working on the ceiling near the couplers on our gas line and I smelled gas. It was actually more of a very faint, odd smell, not the typical pungent rotten egg smell you usually think of. No one else could smell it except (and you won't believe it) my cat. I was on the ladder and my cat went CRAZY the first time we removed the cover. This cat is usually pretty calm, but she jumped up the stairs under the gas line leak twice after I removed the tiles and got very angry. At first my husband and I thought this "eye catcher" was cute and we called her the building inspector until I smelled that funny smell the next time we worked on it again, on the ceiling. When I finally smelled it, I had already forgotten my crazy cat's strange behavior. I asked my husband if he thought it was gas or just a strange smell in the insulation. He felt nothing. I bought this Yeezou detector and I'm so glad I did. There was a leak in the clutch. Bottom line: trust your pet, trust your nose, and don't mess with gas. If you think you smell gas, don't do what I did and wait for delivery (even if it's same day delivery by 9pm). Call your gas supplier and they will send a specialist. As this is a product review I have to say this detector worked great and I think everyone with gas appliances should have it BEFORE you kinda think you might but not be completely sure you smell a leak. When in doubt buy this. Do not do that. BUY IT! $30 is a small price to pay to find a leak before your house explodes!
