**8 month update: To be honest, I can only give this tofu press one star. It's really good in theory. However, the plastic clips simply popped out due to plastic fatigue. I can't really fix them so they don't jump out and fly around the kitchen. ** I'm tired of squeezing tofu with books, paper towels and/or kitchen towels. I figured there must be a better way. At first, this tofu press worked great! You'll start tightening the rubber bands from the top notch and then work your way down while squeezing the water out of the tofu. I bought it at the end of February and in April it was already starting to break. One side has stress cracks in the plastic hinge (you can see the lighter color in the photo). Now the loop won't fall off and tightens all the way as the metal part just pops out of the plastic clip. It's a bit annoying because we don't use it all the time, only about 1-2 times a month and you might think that would be better.
