I can resume and hear live playback without using my laptop's speakers!
I broke the headphone jack on my MacBook. Apple in their infinite wisdom left no room for an easy replacement or repair, the headphone interface is part of a very expensive logic board. Instead of spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on a new board or computer, this $8 dad is doing a great job! Every other option I tried (Bluetooth speakers, USB headphones) resulted in an audio delay when attempting to record. This external sound card does not have this problem.
