Review on 💻 ZOTAC GeForce GT 1030 2GB GDDR5 Low Profile Video Card - Review, Price, and Specifications by Christy Wood

Worked great at first, then disappointed

Of course, since I didn't save the full text of my original review, this will be a lot less detailed. Ordered card, received. I think it was four or maybe five days later. Installed right away and I'm happy. The frame rate has increased tenfold without changing the settings of the game I bought the card for. Where I could only get 25 fps with the lowest base settings and the lowest resolution, I was now able to get 50 fps with everything in the range of at least 50-75% and some settings at max. Then, about two weeks later, I noticed a weird random bug . I put this down to possible overheating (I have it on an SFF machine) and checked the temperature readings and it was right at 60 degrees Celsius, GOOD within the card's operating range (I don't have exact specs, but based on my research it's 85 degrees , which is considered normal for a card of this type in an SFF device under load). Just in case, I opened up the case and kept blowing on it with a fan, which brought the temperature down a degree or two, but that was it, and the crashes just kept getting worse. Glare, mirror effects, details of 3D objects such as clouds. Over time, even individual characters of the text displayed on the screen were missing in the game. Clear and visible signs of progressive device failure. I ended up going to the Zotac website to request an RMA - that was three weeks ago if I remember correctly - and never got a response. Luckily, Revain agreed to a return and a full refund, so I sent the card back to Revain. I am awaiting a full refund of the purchase price to my original method of payment and will then replace this card with a similar model from a different brand. I'm sure I'm only one in ten. However, thousands had problems. Right?
