Review on Walker Quiet-Flow 🚘 52171 Automotive Exhaust Muffler Assembly by Doug Bunkers

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not very durable. I had to adjust.

97 Jetta GL. Useful Information: Depending on the Walker exhaust system, there are two resonators for different vehicle identification numbers. The Walker guy I spoke to on the phone said the only difference was the support. A rod is welded to the outside of the resonators and is included in the rubber suspension of the machine. On this model, the stem runs front to back, which is barely visible above the tube at the bottom of the picture. On another model, the stem goes left and right. Part Performance Feedback: Unsatisfactory. Corroded in less than two years, while the previous exhaust (from an unknown manufacturer) lasted five years in the same salty environment in the Northeast and 3 years in the less salty part of the US. The geometry of the Walker parts was also wrong. I installed all Walker components from the rear and the exhaust piped into the bumper fascia instead of under it; The geometry made the exhaust pipe too high. I downscaled it by changing existing hardware, but that was wrong. It was fairly easy work and not too expensive, but the durability was far from good.
