I have multiple Epson point of sale thermal printers that use a parallel connection. Buying computers with this port is not easy anymore so I tried USB parallel converters with very unreliable results and ended up ordering this card as a last resort. Installation is very easy - just find an empty PCI-E slot and then go to the Windows Driver Manager to update the drivers provided on the CD. The steps in the installation guide didn't work for me (the installer exited without doing anything), but this basic workaround worked. I haven't seen any hardware conflicts or issues and it works as if it was always part of the PC. A great alternative to USB converters or buying a new printer for the price.
