Customer has an old LaserJet 4 printer that only has an old fashioned parallel port connection. Your new PC didn't have it, and this parallel port adapter from SYBA fit the bill perfectly! I installed the card and Windows 7 recognized it and it just worked with the drivers that came with Windows. First we tried the USB to parallel adapter but it didn't work with this old original LaserJet 4. The solution for my customer is simple and easy. I think this Syba SD-PEX10005 parallel port gets 5…

Easy to set up and works great.

I have multiple Epson point of sale thermal printers that use a parallel connection. Buying computers with this port is not easy anymore so I tried USB parallel converters with very unreliable results and ended up ordering this card as a last resort. Installation is very easy - just find an empty PCI-E slot and then go to the Windows Driver Manager to update the drivers provided on the CD. The steps in the installation guide didn't work for me (the installer exited without doing anything), but…

Does what you need

If you're looking at this card, you probably already know why you need it. I bought two of these for a customer whose job printing software required their Okidata Microline 320 and 321 printers to be mapped to LPT port 1 for the correct interface. We've tried the parallel to USB adapter before to no avail, and I would recommend that you save yourself the hassle and just buy one if you have an available PCIe slot on your computer. I installed them on a Windows 7 Professional x64 PC and got the…

Worked great for my intended purpose, no installation hassle.

It's strange to "love" such a small computer part, but I can't find any real faults with it. With minimal fuss I can now connect my old Panasonic KX-P1124 dot matrix printer to a much newer PC that doesn't have a parallel port. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. Installing the driver for this card went smoothly and quickly following the instructions in the manual that came with it. After that, all I had to do was install the driver for the printer itself. Windows didn't initially have Panasonic…

Win7 Enterprise 64bit Plug and Play - works great!

** UPDATE 07/2013 -- Win7 Enterprise 64bit Plug and Play - This Better Connectivity Card / SYBA MCS9900 PCIe-parallel Works great! I just put together a new ASUS Z87-Plus MB / Intel Core i7-4770 Haswell PC to replace an outdated and sick WinXP Pro SP3 32-bit, BIOSTAR K8M800 AM2 AGP Parallel-Ported MB and a PC with an AMD Athlon64 X2 6k+ Retire 3GHz AM2 processor. Since all new motherboards no longer have built-in parallel ports, and I wanted to keep using my HP Laserjet 5 workhorse with 66MB…
