I installed a memory module in my Dell XPS 435MT after I received it and my computer crashed and restarted several times. I removed it and the computer stopped locking but was still slow. I wanted to return it but I downloaded the manual for my computer and realized I didn't install it properly. My computer had 4 1GB flash drives. There are 2 banks of 3 in the computer, 6 slots in total. The manual says not to mix different memories in one bank. I left 3 1GB flash drives in one bank and installed 2 new 4GB flash drives in another bank, leaving 1 unused slot. I now have 11 GB and the computer works much faster and more stable.
