Review on Kumho Ecsta PS31 195/50 R15 82V summer by Boyan Jakimov ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A little bit not what I expected, generally fine.

225/45/17. To replace it, I purchased a kumho ecsta ps 71, which I used for two years and fifteen thousand kilometers. I wish I had repeated the 71st now that I know better. While the price differential is negligible, the difference in attitude is enormous. The 71st is superior in every way. It stops faster, turns sharper, and is more comfortable. BMW 120i, same as before. Driving approach: aggressive. Fair enough: the 31's stiffness may make it more resistant to wear, but that's not a convincing argument in my book. I had no doubts about the 71st's durability; they made it via the Kostroma region's treacherous roads without suffering any casualties. And this is a sign. Any traveler will be aware of this. Will I re-purchase a ps31? Hardly.

Pros
  • Price. tread layout and construction. Nice)
Cons
  • Abnormal volume/"dubness" Well-known, previously a Swedish concern, has gone notably quieter throughout the winter.
