Excellent monopod, second one I have. I bought my first one a few years ago and had no problems with it. I read one bad review and it's always possible to give a few bad ones, but there are many 5 star reviews on this item from happy customers. One thing I do differently is use my head on a monopod. The head makes it a lot easier to set up the camera and without it the monopod isn't that useful. It also relieves the tripod screw from being constantly removed and turned on. I like it because it's both light and strong, and when fully extended it's quite long. The Opteka is light and strong enough to lift the camera above the crowd to snap a picture. The legs work well and the latches hold the monopod firmly and without slipping. The last point is the price. The price is so cheap but the quality is there. This is not a problem for me.
