Review on 🔧 BLACK+DECKER BDHT84002 Pc Plier: High-Quality, Versatile Hand Tool for Precision Work by Mark Hanson

I chose this 4 piece pliers set from Black+Decker to be part of a small tool box that I keep in the basement where I often need tools but don't want to lug a drawer of tools up the stairs down and up to the main level. There are often situations where one or more tongs come in handy and I wanted to cover most of those situations. This kit meets those needs and so far I'm happy with it. The set contains 4 medium-sized commonly used tools. There are pliers, needle nose pliers, pliers and wire cutters. They all have a few things in common: they all have orange rubber grips that serve as both insulation and a comfortable grip, they have very little lateral play, they have a smooth hinge that's seamless and flat against the body. So it's hard to feel when you touch it, and those with cutting edges are sharp enough to do their job properly (meaning they cut, not crush) but not sharp enough to rub blood if you run your finger over the edge. Right. Out of the box, these tools were covered in light-colored lubricating oil and smelled of oil. While this is normal and I understand this was done to protect them from oxidation and the like, I still had to wipe them down before using them for the first time. It's fine for the tasks I have. Most of the time I wouldn't use this set on a heavy job site, especially given the size, but at a handyman or hardware store they'll do pretty much any job thrown at them. They hold up well, cut well, and generally just work as they should. If I had to make any changes at all, I'd add a couple of vises that I use often. However, this adds to the cost (and overall weight) of this set. I am satisfied with this set and would happily recommend it. It has the four most common types of pliers in standard sizes and they are well made.
