I've had a lot of presses over the past 20 years. This was the hardest part to cast CLEAN. When you pour "normal" (compared to other presses I've had) the coffee comes out fine FIRST and then runs down the sides. The only way to counteract this is to increase the pour angle, which increases the speed of coffee movement and causes loss of control. Like this. Pour slowly: dripping down = loss of control. Pour too much and overfill your cup = loss control. Damned if you did, damned if you didn't. Buy a Bodium press. They know how to design an outlet.
