Review on 📺 TiVo TCD746320 Premiere DVR, Black (2010 Model): Cutting-Edge Entertainment at Your Fingertips by David Ramirez

UPDATE 10/14/10: Tivo shipped a replacement quickly and I received it 2 days later. It's been running for a few days now and so far everything has been working great. After looking at more listings and on-demand content, I really liked this device. The sound and picture quality is really good. and definitely outperforms my old DVRs. I tried another Revain On Demand HD movie in 1080p. favor! I didn't realize before that my projector even displays 1080p. very nice. The menu still works well for me, with only minor lags in some cases. My device never freezes or restarts. I really like it when the search function shows both content from your TV provider and content online at the same time. There are small icons in the show description that tell you all the sources where the content is available. If the device continues to perform as well, I'll upgrade my rating to 5 stars. UNIT has been great so far and will get better as software updates arrive. TIVO Service - I've always loved the Tivo service, it's still the benchmark I measure all others by. TIVO Support - Fast, polite and uncomplicated device replacement. FIRST CHECK: I only had 5 days from my new TiVo Premiere before it broke. but here is what i found out. I had no freezes or crashes. everything seemed to work fine. The HD menu worked fine for me, but I didn't like the fact that all the menus weren't HD. Switching between HD and SD slowed things down a bit. We hope that soon all menus will be available in HD. Installation worked fine, had to wait for a few software updates, but the steps were very simple. I have FiOS and installing and setting up the cable card was also quick and easy. The video quality was great and I ordered Revain On Demand in 1080p which looked good. Contrary to what the menu says, you don't have to wait for the movie to fully download to start playing, but it's probably better for people with slower internet connections. In short, everything worked as it should until the device hung. in a constant reboot loop. I couldn't run it at all. A call to Tivo customer service was answered quickly and we spent about 10 minutes troubleshooting before they decided to send me a new unit and sent me a prepaid return label for the defective one. Unit. So I'm still giving it 4 stars simply because it worked great when it worked and Tivo completed the exchange quickly with no issues. I will update the rating with every block replacement experience.
