Netgear GS724TPS fans are completely silent when installed. At the moment I'm only using one POE+ device, but I can connect another one to free up the socket. I have 18 gigabit cables, only 7 of which are in constant use, so the load isn't that great. The device stays at around 35C at the top of the case just above the motherboard, and the temperature of the air exiting the vents ranges from 35C to 38C on a laser thermometer. I had to solder the wires as the connector is not compatible so I cut and used a 3 pin Netgear fan connector. It's not PMW, but the switch still doesn't show fan data. All in all, the two fans were worth their money's worth for virtually negating the jet engine noise. I have a switch in the closet about an inch on each side for airflow. I will say that they are suitable for what I need them for.
