So your oil pressure lamp is on. How far can you hear DING.DING.DING.DING? Relax - don't worry. Take a deep breath. If your temp gauge isn't rising and the engine isn't knocking or grinding, you most likely have a faulty oil pressure sensor. It's not your oil pump that's failing. This part fits my 2005 5 cylinder Chevy Colorado. I also bought a deep socket to install it. 15 minutes later I was back on the road. Before reconnecting, clean the plug of oil residue.
