This pan is more expensive than normal Scandinavian pans. Yes, and they cost more. They're worth it if you're a serious baker. The ribbed base keeps cookies, bread and anything else on the surface of the pan and allows the oven to cook the entire batch very evenly. The oven's hot air is able to circulate above and below what you're baking for a more even result - it's like baking directly on the oven rack. I have about 2 years of experience with this pan. This recent purchase has doubled my collection - I don't use any other bakeware.
