Review on πŸ”§ Qibaok Crimping Tool: Ratcheting Wire Crimper with 200pcs Heat Shrink Butt Connectors for AWG 20-10 by George Jacobson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty good with some elbow grease

This is a decent set for the price and if you get the crimp right you get a nice solid connection. Heat shrinking is nice too. However, I have a few complaints about this tool. Sometimes you can't get a good grip on the metal sleeve and it won't crimp properly. The wire will slip out and the butt crimp will be wasted. If one end presses well against the wire and the other end fails, you're screwed; You'll have to cut some wire and try again (always crimp the hottest wire first for this reason). And forget about trying to cut the butt crimp myself, I've tried that and my dams have exploded, throwing sharp bits all over my garage and leaving the connector intact (which is actually a very good thing when properly terminated) . Crimps are possible. Sometimes I have to do my best to make the crimp go through; Once I had to step on the handles to crimp the blue one. This thing could really use better leverage; maybe a few longer handles. Also, I think it's a great tool. It fits perfectly in my tool box and eliminates the need to solder every connection on the wire harness. With proper crimping and crimp heating, the connection can look like an OEM connection, but sometimes it just won't fire.
