Honestly, you'd rather buy little bags that you can tie up and throw in the trash. The liner is a long plastic tube instead of a row. Bags as I imagined. I thought it would be similar to the grocery bags you use at the grocery store which are attached end to end. Each time you empty the trash can, you'll need to cut open the tube and tie a new knot to cover the bottom of the plastic tube. It seems far less hygienic than using bags, because to tie the knot, you pick up the open end of a plastic tube that you've shoveled dirty trash through for the past week. 100% of the fillers don't fall on the floor. So if you cut open the tube and tie a new knot, tasty crumbs will inevitably fall out. Given that the manufacturer knows the depth of Litter Genie, it should have been easy for them to make "production style" pouches in the right size instead of their chosen plastic tube. The only possible benefit of the tube type I see is that they are probably cheaper to manufacture. Speaking of cost, depending on what volume discount you get, refills cost anywhere from $6 to $8 apiece. A refill is a 14 foot tube. I measured about 14 inches per "pocket" but let's simplify the math and say I only used one foot. That would mean you get about 14 "sachets" from the refill. Priced at $6 per refill, you get $0.42 per pouch. I just searched Amazon for "small trash bags" and found 100 bags for $11.45, or about $0.11 per bag. They're also larger than your hand-knit Litter Genie bags. My final complaint is the size of the hole to shovel rubbish into. It's slightly larger than the included shovel, which is fine, except that crumbs of filler invariably settle on the edge of the hole unless you scoop out the debris with surgeon's precision. This is a problem because when you need to change the liner (on a poorly designed and overpriced replacement liner) you have to push the plastic tab ON THE EDGES OF THE PEACH REMOVAL HOLE. Yes, the same rim you shovel dirty trash through has probably already picked up a healthy dust of random trash crumbs. I think we can agree that it's a bad design, but maybe it's not so bad considering the only way to deal with it is to switch earbuds. What's undeniably awful is the fact that dirt also ends up on the hatch door handle - the handle you have to use every time you clean the litter box. Overall, I find the design of this product ridiculously bad. The fact that I could laugh at how poorly designed this product is is perhaps its only redeeming quality. I will use up my leftover poop tube just to get some use out of this thing, but I have no intention of purchasing a supplement and do not recommend that you purchase this product.
