The Daystar D-Ring/Shackle Washer does exactly what you expect it to. It fits snugly on the temple, preventing it from vibrating and rattling during movement. We have a custom bumper on our Land Cruiser and the brackets remain on the bumper rather than taking up space (albeit a little) in the rear of the car. I needed four washers per bracket to fit snugly in the 3/8" steel on the bumper.
