Review on πŸ”΄ Inateck KT5001 PCI-E to USB 3.0 Card: 5 Ports with Power Connector - Red by Brian Schultz

OK, first then. Problems

Installed this on my Windows 10 PC to add support for a 4k video camera and microphone and the ability to connect an external 3.0 hard drive. Has worked well for several months. However, I recently had a boot issue where the computer would throw codes "99 then 9C then A2" then freeze and not boot. It eventually boots up after a few presses of the reset button. I thought it might be a low battery in the bios so I disabled it. But same problem. Also, my Bluetooth headset stopped working properly when the Bluetooth receiver was connected to the Inateck USB 3.0 port. I tried several different headsets and had the same problem with each one. The Hands-free AG Audio headset was plugged in and Device Manager said it was working properly, but I couldn't get any sound or microphone out. although it used to work and the "stereo out" on the headset worked, so i know it was plugged in. I removed this Inateck card and rebooted my devices connected to the USB 3.0 ports on the motherboard and everything worked again. There were no more problems with the boot order and correctly connected Bluetooth devices. I'm not sure if the chip on the Inateck board failed or if it was some kind of virus or a Chinese hack. So now I'm back to the motherboard's two USB 3.0 ports, which aren't powerful enough to simultaneously power a 4K camera, Bluetooth adapter, and microphone. Another waste of money on bad electronics.
