I want to start by saying that I really like this stone. For the price, this thing really beats its weight class. Ceramic cuts through metal quickly and doesn't bleed, and I no longer have to soak it like I do with Naniwa stones. The only problem with this stone is alignment. You can use stone from the box, but it's not perfectly flat. If you are purchasing this stone I would also recommend investing in a diamond stone (around 600 grains) from EZE Lap, DMT or Trend. When you receive the stone, spend about 30 minutes smoothing the Spyderco stone with a diamond blade before sharpening it (you only need to do this once when you first receive the Spyderco stone). Then, after each sharpened knife, simply do a pass or two with a diamond stone to clean and smooth the Spyderco's surface. Overall I am amazed and the edges this stone can give are just beautiful.
