This size 11 M shoe was true to size with a little more toe room. If I could make a European size smaller I would have to find the right size. They are durable, sturdy and have a decent outsole to walk on when needed. However, they are not flexible enough for every "hike"; but these are cycling shoes. I can feel a little extra sole thickness in the forefoot of the shoe from the ball of the foot forward. When I walk it seems like there is an elevator. This is normal and probably an additional stiffening element for the pedal. They feel very good when driving. Really great. I need an ankle bracelet in the sandy, thorny desert I ride in here in Arizona. The material of the cuff has good ventilation and breathes well. It's not an open boot, but nothing goes in my boot either! To step into the shoe, rotate the shoe 90 degrees in relation to the foot, insert the forefoot and rotate the shoe to align to complete step-in; It's pretty easy. I would recommend them to everyone.
