Fast, easy to clean, great design, great waffles!

I've been making waffles for 45 years. As a kid, it was Bisquick on my parents' standard waffle iron, and we used to spray the iron with it. Me and then my wife, now 26, make scratched waffles—originally wheat-based, now gluten and dairy-free (btw, an amazing recipe that no gluten or dairy lover is going to love). discover!). We always added butter to raw waffles (1/4 cup in the current recipe). This completely eliminated the need for any type of sprayer, making cooking easier and avoiding the build-up on the classic Toastmaster iron we've used for 34 years (it still works great; we just needed more room for guests). The buttery batter approach (and recipe) works great with the Bella iron. In terms of performance, it went from a cold kitchen (63°, 17.2°C) to ready lighting (at the darkest setting) in 3 minutes and 4 seconds. Then I wait 10 seconds to turn it over. The ready light will come on after 3 minutes 12 seconds cooking time. I wait up to 4 minutes 30 seconds until it gets very dark (see photo). (And note that the oblong "patches" you see all over the picture are pumpkin seeds, which I sprinkle onto the iron before adding the batter. I add them, then close the lid for 10- 15 seconds for them to toast a little and then pour the batter over them.) The reheat time between batches is very quick. (I didn't time it, but it was so quick I turned the iron off between batches so I could enjoy one before cooking the other!) In terms of design, I think that's what prompted me to to write this review. In my opinion they have covered the basics. Storage capacity: 14" (35.6 cm) long, 4.5" (11.4 cm) wide, 8.75" (22.2 cm) high (with handle down, including where cable protrudes) times 1" (2.5cm). The dripper is conveniently held in place with 4 small ribs (see photo) that secure it to the base. It catches drips brilliantly - which I usually do because I want a full waffle :) - see photos. For storage, the dripper is inserted into two grooves on the sides and one in the bottom (see photo). The waffles are 16.8 cm (6.5 inches) in diameter and approximately 2.2 cm (7/8 inch) thick. Mine are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The first iron we bought looking for more capacity (Belgian Hamilton Beach Waffle Maker - 26025) was a disaster! We made a batch and after spending 40 minutes or more cleaning them up - I added too much batter - I immediately returned them. When I overfill Bella it just bubbles up the side and drips onto the pan. And what's left over on the outside of the grill itself - i.e. hot - is simply cooked and then comes off clean. Fiction! After use I shook off a few crumbs, let it cool, washed the drip tray and put it away! Last word: if you are in a dilemma between classic/traditional and Belgian, if you like darker shades. , in the first case, the waffle will be more crispy, and the middle of the Belgian one will be softer. But the Belgian still crunches well on the outside. And don't let the size fool you, the Belgian uses 50% more batter per waffle than our classic 7-inch Toastmaster iron. So it takes fewer waffles to call it a meal (which also shortens the overall process).
