Summary: I was intrigued by purchasing an LED ring light as I work with all kinds of lighting solutions for my content production. I wanted to know what the hype about LED rings, which are versatile and very popular with YouTubers and beauticians, is all about. The Neewer 18" LED Ring Light comes in a cardboard box containing: - a large protective carrying case with 2 different compartments. - an adapter with 2 different plugs - US and Europe. - plastic filters in 2 different colours. : white and orange .Each filter has 4 parts and it's not that hard to place them, just make sure you place the part with that rounded curve that fits exactly to the bottom of the ring lamp first.- a thank you card from the manufacturer.** * Please note that there is no user manual in the package, which seems a bit inconvenient to me.The ring light weighs about 8.16 pounds (3.7 kg) and has an outer diameter of 18 inches (48 cm), making it convenient to carry The body is made of plastic and the rounded SMD LED module consists of 240 white LEDs that consume 55 watts per hour and produces a color temperature of 5500 Kelvin (also called "daylight"). Inside the ring are s I have a hot shoe mount and 2 holes that allow you to connect external devices and mounts to it. The power switch is located on the bottom of the ring light and also acts as a dimmer to control the light level. Because it's an LED light, it doesn't generate heat when you stand by or look at it, but the lighting can be adjusted. glare if you're not used to it or if it's set too high. The LED ring light has an adjustable base that you can rotate to 2 different positions with these heavy-duty thumbscrews to mount it in different positions. The base fits a standard tripod, and if you don't have one you should probably consider getting a tripod. The bottom line is that while there are cheaper lighting solutions compared to LED ring lights, if you do decide to go with an LED ring light, this is one of the most affordable 18-inch LED ring lights available on the market today. and you'll probably be happy with this led ring if you consider yourself a potential user (which is what I mentioned above). Its advantages are that it is easy to carry and use, is very quiet in operation and produces lighting that will satisfy most potential users. Its disadvantages are ease of control (dimming the lights makes it difficult to quickly repeat the same shot), no digital display, no ability to work with external batteries (so you have to use an AC adapter, making it less suitable for outdoor shooting), and i guess many potential users would prefer an LED ring with built in tungsten lighting rather than manually putting an orange filter on that ring. Pros: * Weight - I was surprised to learn that this LED ring doesn't weigh too much. It will Supplied with a handy carry case so it's easy to walk around with.* Easy to use - a switch to control the LED, inserting (and removing) plastic filters is a simple task once you know how to place them correctly..* Quiet - The LED ring was very quiet while I was using it. It has no rotors inside (which the older generation LEDs that I still use sometimes have) will satisfy most of its potential users Cons: *Basic controls - An analog switch emphasizes the simplicity of this LED ring, but it can be a nuisance when you want to dim the lights as it's difficult to quickly repeat the same setting once n. You turn it off.* No digital display - the digital display can solve the problem from the previous paragraph and give more information about the operation of this LED ring.* No external batteries - you have to use an AC adapter, which makes it less suitable for the outside production. * No built-in artificial lighting.
