Review on Moen 1225 Brass Faucet Cartridge Replacement 🚰 Kit: Transform Your Kitchen and Bathroom Faucets with Ease by Jacob Sampino

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wow what a difference!

I wish I had had the courage to replace the original Moen 1225 valve a few months ago when I knew it was nearing the end of its life at around 28 years old. I also wish I wasn't so involved in the process so I had photos to explain some of the tips. Watch a YouTube video about this valve and pay attention to EVERY detail. Plumbers know.2. If your original valve is as old as mine, buy a removal tool (I bought the Danco version here for less than $10). First, turn off the water and run all faucets and flush the toilet to speed up the draining of the pipes. Carefully remove the horseshoe shaped copper clip that should be visible at the top of the valve BEFORE removing it and keep it in a safe place.5. When installing the new valve, look inwards for the 2 clear plastic pieces of the valve (right after the copper piece you are attaching the handle to) and center it where the clip was BECAUSE each leg of the clip should protrude over it. a piece of plastic to hold the valve in place otherwise when you turn the water back on the valve will shoot like a cannon with water right behind it. I think Titanic lol. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚6. Lubricate all parts with installation silicone grease before installation (clean old parts with a small wire brush)7. Once you've regained your trim, enjoy the shower and/or bath.8. 8/19/20 I uploaded a VERY amateur video with one hand on the phone and the other trying to show the difference but I promise it's funny what an improvement and now it's time to rip out all the old tiles who were leaking behind an unknown tile me!
