I used this fan to replace the noisy Meanwell PSU fan on my Ender 3 Pro 3D printer. This fan is thicker than the standard fan so I had to mount it on the outside, but that didn't really matter as the clip holding the wires can be detached so I can slide it neatly through the hole. To increase airflow and avoid connector splicing, I used metal snips to the fan grill of the Ender 3 PSU, but that wouldn't be necessary. Meanwell is 12V initially, so no buck converter is needed. However, I had to change the 3-pin connector to a 2-pin connector. This was achieved with jumpers. I used a hot glue gun to glue the two female ends of the jumper wires together to create a 2 pin connector, then I connected the wire's connector to the 3 pin connector, matching red to positive, black to negative. Works like a charm and my printer is a lot quieter! (I already have TFR 1.3 with TMS 2208s, so the motors are already quiet)
