Review on HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e Printer: Wireless Color 🖨️ All-in-One with 6 Months Bonus Instant Ink & HP+ by Matt Morgan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Office Electronics First Impression

My 5 star rating is a bit tentative as I just got the printer up and running yesterday. I did a lot of research and read a lot of printer reviews online. I've narrowed my choices down to the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e and the Epson EcoTank ET-4760. I replaced an Epson printer that has served me well. I read about the pros and cons of EcoTank printers. They end up being cheaper in terms of ink, but ink drying out can be an issue if you don't print often (and I don't print much anymore). I liked the Epson touchscreen better, especially the one on my home printer. (Also, in my opinion, printers aren't visually appealing objects worth showing off, so I prefer black, which makes them seem less noticeable. HP doesn't come in black.) Reviews about HP have been sparse. Then I found out that the ET-4760 has been around since July 2019 and HP launched in March 2021. Obviously, a lot can change in the world of technology in two years. I was really close to deciding on two printers, so I basically held my breath and bought HP. The only catch in the unboxing/setup process was connecting the printer to my wireless network. I've tried twice with the phone app. (iPhone XS/iOS 14.4.2) and once on my laptop (MacBook Pro 2019/macOS Big Sur) with no success. I started to worry. However, I was then prompted to use the "Wireless Wizard" on the printer itself. I had to manually enter the password on the printer's touchscreen. Success! All in all, it was a lot less painful than I expected. I signed up for HP+, but have vetoed the Instant Ink program, at least for now. I print easily from my laptop, desktop (Mac Mini 2011/macOS High Sierra) and phone. I may have had a few noisy printers, but I don't find this printer any louder than any other printers I've owned. The copies are just as good as the previous printer I use (and it doesn't look bad for a printer). My first impression is that the HP 9025e deserves five stars at the moment. The real test will be durability.
