Bought two snorkel rashguards in the Virgin Islands. Since I knew that I would be in the sun a lot, I also bought long sleeves. The other was from a different manufacturer and didn't fit nearly as well. Many people noticed the landing. It fits in and out of the water just like a rashguard should. The close-fitting rashguard provides some warmth in the water and reduces friction when moving through the water. If you want a tight fit in the water, buy the size you normally get, but if you want a looser shirt that protects you from the sun out of the water, buy a size up. If you buy a looser shirt, be aware that it won't be as comfortable in the water.
