I suffer from asthma, especially during the cold months when all that dry heat is pumped out of the radiators in my New York apartment. I was having trouble sleeping because of this horrible tightness in my chest and decided to buy this humidifier because of the brand name and good price. It made a huge difference - I no longer wake up in the middle of the night panting from having to use my inhaler. The added bonus of keeping my skin in good condition despite the harsh winter conditions. Overall, I'm definitely satisfied! This humidifier is missing one essential thing: a timer. I sleep through most nights (thanks to this humidifier), but I'm a little nervous about leaving it running for hours after all the water has evaporated for the longevity of the machine. A night light wouldn't hurt either. Please investigate! I'm sure there are better humidifiers out there, but for a very basic model, this is a good choice.
