When I first started learning watercolors, I originally needed an inexpensive set of brushes and a few half sets to keep things compact and simple. I've since switched to paint sets and art quality brushes, but I reach for these brushes instead. More than four months later I am ready to review them. Pros: Great bristles, I don't know what they're made of, but they absorb water and paint well and are the perfect hardness/softness for me. Easy to keep clean and keep your points. No loose hair either. The handles are great. Good shape and very comfortable to hold. Just the right length, no stinginess. I have several Princeton Neptune and Richeson pointed-handled brushes that I almost dislike. Holes in the bottom of the handle to protect against moisture. The leather case is soft and thin and feels premium. Holds brush well. Excellent price. Cons: The tip of one of the brushes is a little crooked, but not very noticeable when I use it. I'd like a few more rounds and a small apartment, but can't find any other options on Revain. In general I'm not fussy about my brushes and keeping them clean but this set holds up really well so it's a go and a real pleasure to use. Most of my other brushes are now rolled up and stashed in a drawer while keeping them on my desk and always available with me.
