Review on ๐Ÿ’ง Reliable Liberty Pumps SJ10 SumpJet Water Powered Back-Up Pump for Effective Backup - Gray by Jose Isaacs

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Just installed - seems to be working fine

I recently replaced my obsolete Basement Watchdog backup drain pump with this Liberty Pump water pump. I was very tired and annoyed by the alarm calls from the cellar guard about battery problems (which mostly happen in the middle of the night) and about $180 worth of batteries gobbled up in less than 2 years. I hired a local plumber to do the installation and was happy to hear that he was satisfied with the overall quality of Liberty Pumps products. If you are good with plumbing, you can probably install it yourself. After living in a house with a semi-finished basement for 20 years, I have come to the conclusion that this water powered backup pump beats all electronic/battery powered backups per mile in the country in ease of use. I doubt the installation instructions state that the cut-off float should be set 1 foot above the primary pump cut-off point. I prefer it to fire earlier due to rising water and failure of the primary pump. It's so new it hasn't been called to do its job in a real emergency, but I've tested it and go to bed at night happy knowing it's there and not hearing the cellar guard beep. beep beep help me!โ€ The alarm clock no longer disturbs my sleep. Only offering a 4 star rating at the moment as it is new and not yet operational but have full confidence that it will be called upon when the need arises.
