Does the job but a bit small for today's phones

It's ok it does the job well enough for the money I paid for it. However, putting it on isn't that easy, as the iPhone XR makes its size limitations clear and the XR hardly qualifies as a "universal" size. Even when you put it on, you'll find it difficult to perform swipe gestures that use the edges of the screen. A larger block will have higher tolerances and will not stretch that block's elastic members to potentially unacceptable sizes.
