Review on LG 40WP95C-W UltraWide Thunderbolt Borderless Monitor with Dual Controller, On Screen Control, Wide Color Gamut and 5120X2160P Resolution by Doug Hardy

EXPENSIVE. AND IT'S WORTH IT

There's no getting around it - if you don't care about pixel count or screen size, you can find a cheaper option than this monitor. However, if you're looking (ironically) for a more affordable option to Apple's insanely expensive line of monitors, then this LG is for you. Specifically, I swapped out a 27-inch iMac for a 27-inch mirrored monitor, which sounds great but makes for a terrible layout. This 40 was exactly the solution I was looking for (upgrading to Mac Studio to replace the iMac), at max resolution it actually frees up MORE space than I've had before with dual screens - which is funny but true. Brightness complaints are beyond me here, as I'm a network TV editor and haven't seen any issues - perhaps it's a gamer issue that I'll frankly admit I don't know about. Discomfort? (This might be Mac specific, but toggling the volume is stupid). The simple answer is any external speaker of your choosing - while the speakers in this monitor are great (!), it's a nuisance not being able to control them from the processor or keyboard. For your health
