Review on πŸŽ’ Thule Construct Backpack 28L: Sleek Design, Durable, and Spacious by Mar Pacora

Less than expected - wrong specs on Thule website

First the bad. The specs on the Thule website list the Construct 28L as 12.6 x 12.2 x 18.9 inches. That's about the same size as the backpack it replaces. However, when I opened the box, I was surprised at how small it was. The label on the bag confirmed it was 28L. But I also noticed that the size on the label is 12.2 x 9.4 x 19.7. These dimensions are pretty close to the loaded bag sizes I measure. It's not a big deal, but being about 3 inches deep makes a big difference in what you can fit in your bag. The laptop and tablet storage spaces are well padded. Loaded with a laptop and tablet, however, the rear storage compartment looks overloaded, which reduces the main storage space, external drives, power supplies and cables cannot be stowed away adequately. I need a smaller pocket for these things. I'm expecting some sort of soft internal storage for stuff like floppy drives etc. Now for the good stuff. This is a very stylish bag, well lined and seems to offer a lot of protection. The bag is also quite rigid and will stand on the ground without any support. The fact that she's very tough is good news/bad news. Yes, it offers good protection, but it will be more difficult to stuff this bag. You keep pens, keys, etc. in the middle of the bag, not on the front. Not a big deal but it will take some time to get used to and maybe a little more digging. The top front has storage that feels crush-resistant (more padded than the rest of the bag) that's perfect for sunglasses and cell phones. If you are looking for a large backpack, you will probably be disappointed. this bag.

Pros
  • Keep your phone or glasses in a secure, padded security case
Cons
  • Unsafe
