Review on Electrolux EL012B Electro Filter Package by Nicole Griego

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Many Electrolux models are worth the investment

Perfect for my Electrolux UltraFlex upright vacuum and also because it can be washed with water (a lot of people don't realize this as it's a bit counterintuitive) it's a good buy too , unless you abuse it by trying to "wipe it off" in the wash: instead, just rinse each side with lukewarm or hot running water, then let dry. Another helpful tip: when rinsing with water, tap the filter on the sink a few times to remove most of the water, then set the filter aside for 24 hours. The reason you should leave it on for 24 hours is to make sure the filter is completely dry before next use; Placing the filter on its side (i.e. so that it is "up” in the air) also speeds up the drying process as gravity pulls the water down. If you try to use the filter before it's completely dry, the vacuum's motor may have to work harder to force air through the filter, which can cause the motor to overheat and burn out. So give the filter a full 24 hours to dry completely and then return it to its place in the vacuum cleaner. It's tempting to put it back in place after rinsing it out, but consider the cost of replacing the entire vacuum cleaner if its motor burns out! As this is a fully HEPA compliant filter, this is the last filter in your Electrolux's airflow (the vacuum has several pre-filters to capture coarse dust and dirt). You can rest assured that you're not just throwing finer dust into the air while cleaning. Worth the investment! Five stars. Another tip, if you're not sure if this item fits your specific Electrolux model, look at the top of the Revain page, just below the item name. You should see a link that says something like "Check if this fits my model" (or something similar), enter your specific model and the system should tell you. There is also quite a long list of models listed just below this link where you can also find your model.
