I bought this to use with headphones on my TV at night, mainly to save family members from the loud audio I need due to a hearing impairment . I tried a cheap pair ($30) of Blu Tooth headphones, which allowed audio to be played through both speakers and headphones. but short battery life, poor fit and lousy handling made me make this decision. Since the price of high-quality Blu-Tooth headphones is too high for me, this really helped. Good choice for saving $$$. This is a very good quality extension. The connectors appear to be gold plated and fit snugly on both ends. It is double insulated with three copper wires (right, left, ground). The outer diameter of the cable is about 5/32" (4mm) and it is quite flexible. All this means that there is no hissing, crackling or sound loss when using it. In fact, I can enjoy watching TV or listening to music my system at normal volume and hear a lot more than ever through the 5.1 speakers.
