I bought this non slip mat to give my dog some grip when he is sitting in the front of my kayak. It adds a lot of extra support and she was able to stand more comfortably while I rowed and maneuvered. I love how easy it was to cut and glue to my kayak, the mat is thick enough to provide good support and cushioning but thin enough to be easily cut with scissors. The adhesive is very strong, been outside in the rain, on a couple of kayak trips, passed the dog test and I don't see any signs of peeling yet. I put some duct tape in the center of the port of my kayak that holds a lot of standing water and the duct tape handles partial water submersion quite well. my personal kayak and my preferences. A grid on the back of the product to help with cutting would be ideal, but this is just a preference and doesn't affect the quality of the product.
