Review on 💻 Gigabyte G27Q-SA 2560X1440P Monitor with FreeSync, HDR, and Flicker-Free Technology by Nick Gibson

After doing a little research and seeing good reviews for the G27Q monitor, I decided to buy it. For the price it has all the features I wanted and more. Unfortunately, I wasn't that thrilled with the reviews when I first got it. It had two dots in the top center of the screen with poor backlighting. I had noticeable and distracting backlight highlights on dark screens in games, movies, and dark desktops. I tried using it for a few days but it was too distracting and I decided to return it for a replacement. The replacement arrived and I had to test it, this time it had a backlight bright spot in the center of the top. I've tested it in games, movies, and dark screens, and again it's so bright it's distracting. I tried adjusting the brightness and using the various picture settings in the menu, but there was still a noticeable spot of light in the top center of the screen and changing the ambient light in the room made no difference. The corners of the screen can appear brighter in the images I've posted, but it's usually not that noticeable and has more to do with the phone's camera making those areas appear brighter. The first time I had problems with the Sidekick OSD control software. It installed but the monitor didn't show up and I tried it on a second computer and it was able to see it. By installing an older version and using automatic updates I was able to get it to work. I then tried updating the firmware on a PC and couldn't tell that the update was for a different model. I was able to update the firmware on the second PC. I liked this monitor and the colors, picture quality and refresh rate were good, but unfortunately the backlighting on the two I got was so poor and annoying that I had to return both. The quality control doesn't seem that great and for the price I would have expected better. I hope other buyers don't have the same problems as me.
