Review on ๐Ÿ  Lee's Dual Function Guppy Breeder by Christine Zuniga

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Works best with fish and aquatic animals

I bought this for my pregnant guppies. With the first guppy I had no idea when she would give birth. One evening I looked into the aquarium and noticed that small juvenile fish were swimming everywhere. I quickly grabbed the hatcher and put the fry in (a little over 20 in all). They were quickly contained and have grown quite well in it since. I bought another one for my second pregnant guppy as the first one was full of growing pups. Since I had an idea of when she would give birth, I put her on it. In fact, she was there for almost a week, and while she wasn't thrilled, she wasn't the least bit tired. When the delivery time came, the fry fell to the bottom and were safe. She only had 7 and when she was done I just lifted the whole "V" with her and just put her back in my tank. Unfortunately two of the juveniles were exceptionally small (I think they were probably Endler's X's) and they slipped through the cracks and are now gone. However, if the side slots were a bit smaller, there would be no way to clear debris from the breeder or ensure proper circulation. For the curious, the breeder actually just swims in the aquarium. The two little things on the side that look like valves are actually air chambers that keep it afloat. It's really very smart. Both of mine easily fit in my ten gallons; I could probably add another, maybe even a fourth, if I arranged them all sideways.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires outlet
