Don't take the cheaper route

I bought the same product from another seller and it was unusable. The product's V arrived bent where it didn't even touch the sides of the breeder. I sealed the sides with tape and thought everything would be fine until my guppy gave birth inside. The juveniles swam into the side vents for water exchange in the nest and swam up to the adults where they were eaten. It is better to buy two-way breeders in a store where the slots for water exchange are below and smaller. It's very cheaply made…

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Some cons

Exactly what I was looking for. Swims in the aquarium. It has a V shaped insert with a small slot in the bottom of the V for the fry to fall/swim through. Not sure what the misleading reviewers were talking about when they said an adult guppy could fit through the gap or that the device would sink. Works as advertised and much better than other flat divider designs with multiple slots like a grill. A lot of juveniles are lost using this other design as the juveniles are not kept very well up in

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Stock market availability

Just what I needed to clean the water in the aquarium

The first one came completely broken, I contacted Amazon and they immediately sent a replacement which arrived safely. This works as advertised, floats in the tank. I've never lost it, but tends to go with the flow at times. My large aquarium got a head start and found out they can push it so they think it's a toy. I simply attached a seaweed clip to the rim of the tank to secure it now that my fish have taken the baby snails with them. Even my mysterious baby snails, which hatch as big as a…

Waste of money - aquarium water treatment

I just wanted an insulated tank for the post-breeding period that survived hidden in floating plants for a while and surprised me a few days ago. (They're too big to float out of the side vents, as others have pointed out.) But: - The plate that comes on this thing is flimsy and uncomfortable to safely/quickly remove for feeding. At one point I dropped one end of the top on the babies; I'm glad I didn't meet any of them. The entire installation remains pressed to the tank wall without suction…

Pros
  • GOLS certified

  • Definitely bad product

Works best with fish and aquatic animals

I bought this for my pregnant guppies. With the first guppy I had no idea when she would give birth. One evening I looked into the aquarium and noticed that small juvenile fish were swimming everywhere. I quickly grabbed the hatcher and put the fry in (a little over 20 in all). They were quickly contained and have grown quite well in it since. I bought another one for my second pregnant guppy as the first one was full of growing pups. Since I had an idea of when she would give birth, I put her…
