Review on Fujifilm Finepix E510 Digital Optical by Krystle Garcia

Revainrating 4 out of 5

High performance at a reasonable price

I bought this Finepix camera as a refurbishment for my nephew to replace his crappy Vivitar. I was able to find one for around $55 + shipping (compared to $225 for a new one). I opened it as soon as I received it as I wasn't sure about the quality of the camera and its condition as it was a major refurbishment. It had a few minor scratches but still looked pretty sharp. Plain colors, a small but reasonable size and user-friendly accessories were the hallmarks of the E510. I turned it on and played with it for a while. The camera has as many features as most high-end 35mm devices. Records a full video with sound. Photos are amazingly clear and consistent. Images can be scaled to 5 megapixels or slightly lower to save storage space. It has more features than I can or want to describe here. The real downside is the xD memory card, which is tiny and more expensive than other flash drives. If you're looking for a sturdy, SIMPLE enough (if you've used 35mm cameras before that's no problem) and cheap camera, you've found it. Even closer to $225 new I would consider buying this camera. My nephew really liked the included software CD. The supplied software did not have to be installed for Windows XP (plug and play). He described the photo management software as a very simple version of Photoshop. All in all, this is a full-featured digital camera at a great price.
