Review on 🔥 Enhance Precision with Amana RC 45711 Insert Carbide Groove by Nikith Brewster

Let me start by saying that I have been a locksmith for 15 years. All in all, this is a great design for an insert tool. I've always liked the ability to quickly change inserts when they are worn out or broken and the insert life is good. However, my problem arose the first time I had to replace the insert. This is usually very easy with such bits from different manufacturers. This bit in particular has a small design flaw that could kill you. Despite numerous attempts to line up the bit properly, I still get a flat bottom V due to incorrect plate positioning. Typically, the insert is pushed into the tool until it stops, or centered on a countersunk screw to ensure easy and correct positioning. This design has neither a shoulder nor a countersunk bolt, which allows for a lot of play, and even using a caliper to set the recommended insert sizes didn't solve the problem. This problem ruined a $90 product I was making for a customer. It's such a shame they came so close to a great design but failed at it. My recommendation is to do some research and choose a different product. When I, as an experienced machinist, have so many problems, I cannot imagine the problems that hobbyists and repairers have in the workshop.
