Review on GigaTent Durango Military Cot: Heavy Duty, Portable Sleeping Solution. by Maurice Cunha

I purchased a GigaTent Durango Military Cot on Ebay.The manufacturer claims it will hold 300 lbs. I weigh 195 lbs. The first or second night that I slept on it, the metal brace under the middle support buckled when I sat down. (See photos) Thus the low sturdiness rating.The cot now tilts to one side and my sleeping bag slides off. Thus the low comfort rating. I do not know if it is a defective unit, or a defective design. But I think it is the design. IE the metal supports are too thin.I had high hopes for this cot as a large size bed with sturdy construction. But it appears that the product does not live up to the claims made by the manufacturer and they are not willing to do anything about it.I contacted the manufacturer via their online contact form on their website over a month ago and they have not responded.They may be out of business now. Their website is still up, but the phone number has been out of service for over a month.Beware of purchasing anything made by them!One point that would be important if the cot was not broken: When I assembled the unit, it was incredibly difficult to put together. The top is so tight I had to use leverage to stretch it enough to get it onto the base. I could have gotten hurt putting it together or taking it apart. I have never since taken it apart and folded it, as it never stretched enough to make it not difficult to disassemble. Thus the low rating for easy to fold.
