Great Cot and extra long

Very happy with this. It is longer than another cot I have but this one folds differently. My other cot folds in half and this one folds and is put in a carry bag it comes with. MUCH easier to put away somewhere. When I first got it I thought it was going to be several pieces that I would have to figure how to put together. That wasn't the case. I was very surprised the way in just unfolds then slip in the end bars. The end bars are a little difficult to put in place but they have to be tight…

Pros
  • Nice cot, but a little difficult to get one end on after attaching the other end.
Cons
  • Though the GigaTent Durango Military Cot is portable, it might be a little too heavy for backpacking trips, making it a less-than-ideal choice for hikers and campers who need to travel light

Defective design. Manufacturer hiding or out of business.

I purchased a GigaTent Durango Military Cot on Ebay. The manufacturer claims it will hold 300 lbs. I weigh 195 lbs. The first or second night that I slept on it, the metal brace under the middle support buckled when I sat down. (See photos) Thus the low sturdiness rating. The cot now tilts to one side and my sleeping bag slides off. Thus the low comfort rating. I do not know if it is a defective unit, or a defective design. But I think it is the design. IE the metal supports are too thin.I had…

Pros
  • Great size and comfortable!
Cons
  • The heavy-duty construction of the GigaTent Durango Military Cot means that it's built to last, but the durable fabric and metal frame can make it a bit uncomfortable for extended periods of use, especially if you're not used to sleeping on a cot
