Where do I start other than it was one of the most frustrating and time consuming projects I have ever worked on with a vehicle. Of course, it's not 100% the strut's fault, but the project was a nightmare. My biggest complaint is the instructions that came with the seal. While they give a lot of detail, there are some important parts of the instructions that are very vague and leave you guessing as to what to do (thank god for YouTube). A graphic or a link to a video tutorial would be very helpful. While this is part of a truck and anything can (and will) go wrong, I was disappointed with how easily I was led to believe in this project. The product itself appears solid, but the black powder coating came off almost immediately during installation. This "1 1/2 hour 2 hour project" took me about 16 hours over 5 days, not counting the hundreds of miles I spent traveling back and forth looking for parts, and having to use someone else's car while mine was disabled. Long story short, the bottom strut bolt was welded to the arm bushing and had to be cut and pushed out and the bushing/bolt replaced. Before you decide to install a wheel alignment kit on your truck, never neglect the "expected installation time" and be prepared that your truck could be out of service for up to a couple of days if something goes wrong (example ). Also, really consider doing this for your truck, bearing in mind that since you've removed the entire suspension from your truck, you will inevitably run into problems or other parts that need replacing along the way. and something else. A few notes for those installing this product: - Definitely hire an extra hand for this project. Doing this alone will be extremely difficult. Do not use coil clamps as recommended as you cannot remove the clamps once the shock is in place. Instead, remove the caliper so you have more vertical play in the wishbone. It's a lot easier this way, but it's one more step. When installing an upgraded shock absorber, place the top end first. Make sure the shock is rotated 180 degrees where it came out. Before aligning or bolting the lower shock, make sure the top of the shock in the strut aligns with the holes and hand tighten the bolts. While another person applies downward pressure (hard pressure) on the control arm/rotor, install the lower shock forks with a pry bar. - Unclamp the lower strut bolts and tighten the upper spacer bolts. I am giving this product 3 stars due to the general stress and ass pain I had to put on and the extra money I had to spend to get it working. Definitely not as easy and straight forward as the description and instructions suggest. Sure, it's some sort of Murphy affair, but just think before you delve into it on a Sunday afternoon. 2012 Dodge Ram Sport
