Love it, for the price I can't think of anything better. Yes, there are some drawbacks to grinding, engraving, and laser engraving when you look closely, but when it comes to shaving and sharpening, it gets the job done very well. I would definitely buy it again having used it many times now. I actually had a full beard when I first used it, bought it because I was planning on shaving it off. I wasn't using clippers or anything, I just dove right into this bad boy and he didn't bat an eyelid. The hair literally detached from my skin with a very nice click as I moved over my beard and had a baby smooth butt within minutes. If I had chosen clippers and a conventional razor, it would have taken twice or three times as long. This bribed me, now I happily shave with a straight razor because of this quality product. The blade is well made, good quality, damn sharp and easy to keep sharp with a gentle treatment that lasts the whole shave or longer. The shells are solid wood which provides a solid grip without slipping, much better than others I've used and seen in this price range which are typically flimsy, slippery junk plastic. Bottom line: if you're willing to shave with a straight razor but not willing to spend big bucks until you know what to expect, I can't think of a better place to start. Cheaper products don't work and more expensive ones are a waste of money. Gold Dollar has become a gold stain for me and has earned me a loyal customer for life.
